Our Philosophy

We're here to help you navigate the carnivore lifestyle, not to hoard your data. We collect the bare minimum needed to make the site work and to keep the "Pro" tools running smoothly. We don't sell your personal info to third parties. Period.

Analytics & Google Signals

We use Google Analytics (GA4) with Google Signals enabled. This helps us understand how folks use the site across different devices (like starting on a phone and finishing on a laptop).

What Google sees: If you're signed into your Google account and have "Ads Personalization" turned on, Google may associate your visit with your account.

How to opt-out: You can manage your data via Google's My Activity or use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Payments & Stripe

When you upgrade to a "Pro" account, we use Stripe to handle the money stuff.

Data We Collect

We collect data in several ways when you use the site. Here is a full accounting of what we collect, why, and how long we keep it.

Calculator Usage Data: When you use the free or paid calculator, we collect the inputs you provide (such as age, sex, height, weight, activity level, dietary goals, and diet type) along with pseudonymous technical data including your referral source, UTM campaign parameters, landing page URL, device type, browser analytics identifiers (such as the Google Analytics client ID from cookies), and IP-derived location data. This data is stored on our servers and used for aggregate product analytics, funnel performance analysis, and service improvement. We retain this data for up to 26 months for analytical purposes. This data is not linked to your name or email address unless you make a purchase, at which point your calculator inputs may be associated with your transaction record.

Purchase and Transaction Data: When you purchase a report, we store your email address, calculator inputs, and payment confirmation details. Report access is time-limited (48 hours). You can save or email yourself the report before it expires. We do not maintain user accounts, login credentials, or ongoing personal data archives. Transaction records (including email, amount paid, and payment status) may be retained indefinitely for accounting, tax, and dispute resolution purposes.

Payment Processing: All payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc. We never see, access, or store your full credit card number, CVV, or banking details. Stripe collects information necessary to process your payment and prevent fraud, subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy. We receive only confirmation of payment status (completed, refunded, or failed).

Cookies and Analytics: We use Google Analytics (GA4) cookies to understand site usage. Third-party affiliate partners (such as Amazon, ButcherBox, and LMNT) may set their own cookies when you click affiliate links. We use server-side analytics events for purchase and refund tracking to ensure accurate reporting regardless of browser settings.

Infrastructure Data: We use Cloudflare for site delivery and security. Cloudflare may process technical data (IP address, browser headers) to protect against attacks and ensure service availability. Calculator session data is stored in Supabase, a cloud database hosted on encrypted servers.

How We Use Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

AI-Assisted Content

In 2026, the line between human-written and AI-generated content is about as clear as the line between "keto" and "low-carb" — everyone has an opinion and nobody fully agrees. Here's where we stand:

Carnivore Weekly uses a combination of AI synthesis and human curation. A real human sets the editorial direction, picks the topics, and maintains quality standards. AI language models (including Claude by Anthropic) do the heavy lifting on research synthesis, content drafting, and report generation. Think of it like a kitchen: the human decides what's on the menu, the AI does the prep work. Both are involved in every meal.

For paid reports specifically: your calculator inputs are sent to the AI provider solely for the purpose of generating your personalized report. We do not send payment information, email addresses, or other identifying data to AI models. The resulting report is AI-generated content produced within human-defined editorial guidelines.

Not Medical Advice

Carnivore Weekly is an informational and entertainment resource. We are not doctors, registered dietitians, or licensed healthcare professionals, and nothing on this site should be treated as if we were.

Nothing on this site, including calculator results, generated reports, blog posts, wiki articles, or any other content, constitutes medical advice, medical nutrition therapy, diagnosis, or treatment. We do not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. All content is provided for educational and entertainment purposes only.

You should consult a qualified healthcare provider before making any changes to your diet, exercise routine, or health regimen, especially if you have any medical conditions, take medications, or are pregnant or nursing. The calculator and reports provide general estimates based on widely published nutritional formulas and AI-generated guidance. They are not individualized medical recommendations and may not be appropriate for your specific circumstances. Individual results may vary. Use of this site and its tools is entirely at your own risk.

Affiliate Links

We use affiliate links for products we actually use and trust, including ButcherBox, LMNT, and various Amazon sellers.

Data Retention and Deletion

Report access expires after 48 hours. Pseudonymous calculator analytics data is retained for up to 26 months. Transaction records (email, amount paid, payment status) are retained as required for accounting, tax, and legal compliance.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of data we hold about you. Since we do not create user accounts and calculator data is pseudonymous, there is generally no personal data archive to retrieve. For purchase-related inquiries, your Stripe receipt serves as your transaction record. For data-related questions, contact us at privacy@carnivoreweekly.com.

Limitation of Liability and Assumption of Risk

We do our best to protect your data, but no system is 100% secure. By using this site, you acknowledge that you are making dietary and lifestyle decisions at your own risk and that individual results may vary. Carnivore Weekly, its owners, and contributors shall not be held liable for any damages arising from the use of this site, its tools, or its content, including but not limited to health outcomes, weight changes, nutritional deficiencies, adverse reactions, financial losses, or data breaches. If any provision of this disclaimer is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. If we make material changes to how we handle data, we will update this page with a new "Last Updated" date.
